Gåvan till skolan i Sudan/The gift to the school in Sudan

Förra veckan åkte min make till Yei i Sudan så då var det äntligen läge att lämna över de saker ni snälla människor hemma hade samlat ihop till skolan. Maken och Linda, en norsk kvinna som bland mycket annat är ansvarig för skolan, gick igenom allt som var med tillsammans med skolans huvudlärare och skolans sekreterare. Nålarna var till stor glädje! Som jag sagt till er alla, nålar finns att köpa i Sudan men kvalitén är hemsk. Sytråd av olika färger och sorter var också oerhört välkommet. Broderiramar kunde nog ha skickats hur många som helst. Säkerhetsnålar hade jag fått för mig att det fanns, men det gjorde det inte så det borde jag också haft med mycket, mycket mer. Likaså en sån liten detalj som tryckknappar! Reflexband var okänt men dom skulle testa. Jag är helt övertygad om att det är något som verkligen behövs och kan rädda liv om man syr på dom på speciellt barnens kläder. Rundstickorna krävde också lite förklaring, men de lär nog bli flitigt använda!

My husband went to Yei in south Sudan last week and visited the school there. For english readers, that havn´t had the opportunity to follow my lovehistory with the school I can tell that it is a trainingschool that educates IT-peoples, joiners (is that the right word? Peoples that build in wood....), tailors and some other proffesions. NPA is the organisation that runs the school. If you look on the page you can find more information about the organisation and the school. I had the opportunity to go there for a week this spring to work with alredy trained tailors. There are pictures earlier in the blog from this week. When we went home to Sweden this spring I begged my friends to collect small things for the school. Things I´d noticed that they lacked or things of better quality. I got needles of all kinds, very needed, securityneedels, sewingtread (they have tread and needles in Sudan but unbelivebly poor kinds), some yarn, embroiderytool and many other small things.

A huge thanks to my friends that helped.... Hope to be able to do this again.
